news of puppies

We hope to have two litters arriving the middle of July,2010.  One litter should be light red color and the other dark but there are no guarantees with Cairns.  Usually we don't sell by color because they can change.  Many of our light ones have turned dark.
I will also have a couple of older dogs available at this time.  This would be good for someone who doesn't want to bother with "puppy pains"

Buying of a puppy

There are several things to remember when you decide to buy a puppy.
1.  Do you have the time to raise and nuture this puppy?
2. What type of temperment do you expect from the puppy?  Do you have young children and are they well behaved to be around a puppy?
3.  Do you have a fenced in yard?  These dogs need to be able to run around and get exercise.  Keeping dogs in crates all day is not acceptable.
4.  You need to plan to have obedience training as Cairns are stubborn and need to know who is boss.
5. Where do you plan to buy this puppy.  We strongly recommend purchasing your puppy from a reputable breeder.  You will find that a reputable breeder will give you these things.
 a. a guarantee for health and temperment
 b. a pedigree so you know the backround of this dog
 c. vaccinations that are necessary
 d. a dog that has been socialized. Never purchase a dog at less that 8 weeks old.
 e. many breeders microchip which helps identify your dog if lost or stolen.
 f.  help with grooming problems
 g. available to answer questions if you have a problem
 h. will help you select a dog that matches your personality
6. Plan to visit the breeder and see the dogs in their domain. A breeder who has a number of different dogs or has a number of the same breed of dog available could be a puppy mill.
7. Go to a dog show and see the breed you are interested in.
8 Ask if the breeder belongs to a local kennel club or national kennel club
